From Now On

What I mean, brothers, is that the time is short. From now on those who have wives should live as if they had none;  1^st Corinthians 7:29  NIV

A young man finally reached a point where he could buy a house.  The girl he was engaged to, helped him choose a beautiful little place in the country with a white picket fence.  There they could raise children and have a nice little life.  But by the time the paperwork was finished and he was able to move in, the Holy Spirit had already moved deep within his heart.  He turned more and more to the Lord.  Their relationship took a turn also.  They realized their goals were different. God called him from his fine job and away from the life he had been planning to live there.

Now that man lives in a whole different land.  He had to wait, but he has a wife and is blessed with children.  The lesson he learned was that God is active.  Time is short.  Our world is not only to be enjoyed as we see fit.  There are many blessings that we may still experience here.  But from now on, we should live for God!  The issue is not to forget our responsibilities, but rather our hearts and our dreams should be increasingly more focused on the Lord!  The pressing relationship that we invest our time on, should be on the Savior.  Jesus is the One we are marrying for all eternity!  From now on, shall we invest ourselves in Him?

Dear Lord,

Beginning now we would like to live with You!  Show us how to put You and where we stand with You before all else!  From now on let us walk as if Heaven is looming into view!
