Become To Win

Become To Win

To the weak I became weak, to win the weak. I have become all things to all men so that by all possible means I might save some.  1st Corinthians 9:22  NIV

He grew up in a Christian family.  They taught him to love and seek the Lord.  When he reached those teenage years where testing limits and ideals reached its peak, he left his church to go and find God.  But he found more than his share of the world.  He started visiting other churches.  Whenever he had the chance to go to a new denomination or hear about another set of beliefs, he jumped at the chance.  In every new church, he sat and listened attentively.  He tried to dress and act as they did in that new place.  At each new church, they encouraged him to become one of them.

Our friend was definitely no Paul.  He was not God´s chosen messenger to a lost world.  His motives were nowhere near as pure nor as directed to God.  But he learned a lesson that Paul tried to share.  God is not limited by one train of thought or set of beliefs.  God is bigger than our denominational views.  Christ calls us to become Christians.  But He calls us to become in order to win!  What are we to win?  We are to win a share of Him!  We are to win others their share with Him too!  Shall we try to see past our ways and become His?  Shall we try to win more of Him in us today?

Dear Lord,

Help us see past our differences and find You!  Help us to see that what we are to win, is that we and others are to become Yours!  Help us move forward until we are truly Yours!  Let us gain the immeasurable treasure of Your Spirit in us, we pray!

Amen
