If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. 1st Corinthians 13:2 NIV
In the middle of a US tour, the team stopped in a frozen city to fill up with gas and get something to eat. Snow covered the ground leaving it difficult to cross the street. As a couple of the entertainers were carefully stepping through the ruts made by the passing cars, they passed by a homeless lady in ragged clothing. Sun pierced through the clouds without taking the icy sting of the cold away. With a toothless smile, she said in a cheerful voice, “It sure is a nice day out!” It was not until they were driving away from that town, that they begin to think of that lady.
There are people in need everywhere. It does not matter if they are on the street or in a busy workplace. We may be aware or may never guess when someone could use the Lord´s care. The homeless lady had no dry or warm place to be. But she hadn´t asked for anything. She just pointed out the bright side of the morning. What might she have needed? Could we stand to examine our hearts again? Could we do it often, even constantly? Could we look through the eyes of our Savior and see if His love is found in our conduct, our care, and all of our encounters today?
As we move around in our day and in our lives, help us to remember You! Help us seek to have Your heart in us and give Your love to all who might be in need of it, we pray!
