in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed. 1st Corinthians 15:52 NIV
A small boy stood by the campfire where the grown-ups were enjoying light conversation. He wanted so much to share some of his learning too. Finally, he found his moment and blurted out what was on his mind. However, his words demonstrated even to his own young ears, that his understanding was not the same as that of the more mature folk. Have we ever had that happen? Have we ever said something and upon hearing our words, realized that we were less than the experts we thought we were?
As Christians, we should be well aware that our vision is limited. We speak of having a relationship with the Maker of the Stars as if we could already see His glorious face. We have been taught much, but there is infinitely more to still learn. Our God is the God of Wonders! He is imperishable. He wants to make us imperishable too. Just as the small child thought he knew what he was talking about, we too should know there is much more to come. Those who will look to the Lord to learn, have His promise to be led through each mystery! Who feels now, the excitement welling up inside with the hope of changing into the imperishable children of God? Who is straining now to hear that trumpet blow?
Give us hope and anticipation to witness the unveiling of Your wonders! Let us burn with love for You until we can be changed into imperishable worshippers of You, we pray!
