Do Everything in Love

Do Everything in Love

Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be men of courage; be strong.  Do everything in love.  1st Corinthians 16:13-14

She was a single mother.  She had to work long hours to keep her and her baby fed.  She had bills to pay and a house to keep.  It was hard for her.  Some days, she didn´t know if she was going to make it.  One day a friend asked if a guest from another country could stay with her for a week or so.  She couldn´t say no.  Fortunately the guest was able to see how much of a load she had and realized the sacrifice she was making to receive him into her house.  So while she was at work, he set himself to cleaning, ironing, and preparing the food for her and her child.  The man stayed only a week and the two never met again.  But the generosity and kindness will long be remembered.

We are ambassadors.  We represent the God we say we serve.  We are not perfect yet.  But we strive to walk closely in the footsteps of our Lord and Savior.  Christ is the perfect example of love.  He shows us the Father and His love.  The more we seek Him in our lives and the closer we walk with Him, the more others will see His love.  Could we pray for Divine help in radiating the love of God today?  Could we ask the Lord to fill us with such a flood of His love that it pours out to those around in a million different ways?

Dear Lord,

Help us remain watchful, strong and courageous in our walk with You.  But most of all let Your love flow through us in such proportions that all those around are blessed and warmed with the glow of Your own love, we pray!

Amen
