Fragrant Knowledge

Fragrant Knowledge

But thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumphal procession in Christ and through us spreads everywhere the fragrance of the knowledge of him.  2nd Corinthians 2:14  NIV

The day finally came when a teenage boy got his driving license.  He had fallen in love with a car and dreamed of having it for his own.  He got a job and started saving his money.  Whenever he could convince his parents, he dragged them halfway across the state to go and look at it.  But one day, when he got to the showroom and started to feast his eyes on the car of his dreams, he saw the sign.  It said sold.  His heart dropped.  But wait!  The name on the sign had his last name written on it.  His parents had kept a secret.  They had reserved the car for him to buy without telling him.  Overwhelming joy lit up his face at the fragrant knowledge.

We may think that our job is to win souls over to Christianity.  We might try to convince others of beliefs, ways of worship, or interpretations of Scripture.  But what God has called us to is something infinitely sweeter.  We are called to a walk with His Son.  We are called to turn our attention away from all that men chase after.  We are called to offer a priceless Gift unto the world!  We are called to share the fragrant knowledge of Jesus to all!  We can help others like us, whose hearts could soar at the news of His love.  Could the life of someone we meet today be overjoyed too?

Dear Lord,

Thank You for turning to us in love and blessing us so!  Help us now share the fragrant knowledge of You to all who might appreciate the sweetest Gift available to mankind!
