Through the Veil

Through the Veil

Even to this day when Moses is read, a veil covers their hearts.  2nd Corinthians 3:15  NIV

Two friends used to love to discuss Bible passages.  They both came from the same religious background.  They both loved the Lord.  But one went to the Word to draw a distinct line between those who were correct and those who were not.  Neither were experts on the Scriptures.  But the other felt a tug deep inside.  Something in the heart spoke of love, forgiveness, and of Christ.  Although they did not yet understand, they both still needed a veil to be removed for them to be ushered into the Presence of Jesus.

We can follow in the footsteps of countless people who dutifully tread along doing what they believe is Scripturally sound.  Or we can take a turn of heart.  We can realize our lack, any distance, and our dire need for Christ personally.  We can pay sufficient attention to this tug in our hearts.  We can go out of our way. We can seek to develop an intimate and unbroken walk with His Spirit.  Anyone can stand far off in pride and defend themselves with their favorite texts.  But the blessed ones who will know God´s Spirit in ever-increasing amounts, will be those who yearn for Him until our veil is torn and we press through into His Presence!  Will it be us now?

Dear Lord,

Please do not let us continue to let anything come between us and You, not even our beliefs!  Let us press forward until we live every moment with You in conscious awareness, we pray!

Amen
