And we, who with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his likeness with ever increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit. 2nd Corinthians 3:18 NIV
When he was small, a boy could not stand certain things about his parents. For example, when his parents told a touching story or relayed something they felt much about, they would cry. Tears would stream down their faces and their voice would get all choked up. The boy would get all embarrassed and swore that he would never be like that. Yet when that boy grew into adulthood, those familiar qualities that he didn´t like began to show even in him. There were many good qualities too, but he was surprised to find that he was slowly but surely transforming into the likeness of his parents and mentors. Can we see where we are being transformed into the likeness of our Father in Heaven?
Perhaps it depends on the amount of time and connection we have with our mentors that will determine how much like them we become. If this is the case, and if we want to be transformed into worshippers who reflect the Lord we serve, then we will want to get close to Him. We will want to know Him more. We will want to spend so much time in His Presence that we are transformed into being ever-increasingly more like Him. Shall we start today?
Please give us what we lack in strength, in wisdom, and in perseverance so that we may, through all that we experience together with You, be ever increasingly transformed, we pray!
