But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us. 2nd Corinthians 4:7 NIV
“You will never get anything by sitting still.” They told him. .The college boy tried to find some devotion to God in this theory, but could see that in his earthly heart there was still way too much room for personal desire. He asked around but there was more encouragement for him to act out in faith than to take precaution and seek the Lord until God approved of his goals. So the youth rejected his peer´s advice and sought the Lord on his knees. After all the other voices ceased, the Spirit whispered to him that he had done the right thing. What do we do?
Our mission is not to act first, or achieve our heart´s desires even when we supposedly devote them to God. Our call is to be right with Christ. Those precious ones who refuse to step out on their own without seeking the Spirit first, will receive not only direction for their lives, but One Who will walk with them and help them in the endeavors of His choosing. But if we are not careful, and if we are not insistent, we may overlook what the Lord´s will for us is. If we do not get close enough to Jesus, then how on earth can we say we are acting as He would have us? Shall we look first to where we stand with Him? Shall we try to walk so close to our Savior right now that we can clearly see where He would take us today?
Help us keep knocking until You let us in! Draw us so near to You today that we can move as You want us to, we pray!
