Christ´s Love Compels

Christ´s Love Compels

For Christ’s love compels us, because we are convinced that one died for all, and therefore all died.  2nd Corinthians 5:14

A girl visiting a ranch in Southern Africa was taken on a drive.  There were other teenagers along that day and they laughed and joked together.  The driver stopped at a small dam where the youngsters quickly leaped out and began to play in the water and mud.  But the girl sat in the car.  She had not told any of the other children, but one of her legs was a prosthetic.  An older boy noticed that she had not joined in the fun.  He was known for being a little too self-involved and selfish, but he eventually came over to see why she was not playing.  When he heard, he took her up in his arms and carried her to the water´s edge.  He helped her into the water and stayed with her to see that she had fun too.  Have we seen when and where the love of God moves in people and compels them to show His love to others?

No matter how selfish or self-involved we are, we too can be changed.  We may need to want that change or our sad condition.  But if we will pray, if we will come unto Jesus, His nature can rub off on us.  If we go on to assure that we are learning of our Lord His love can soften our hearts and move us.  If we truly bow to Him and seek to be in the presence of God, then a new power and a new love can grow within us today!  Who cares to come close enough to Christ today that His love can compel us too?

Dear Lord,

Fill us, move us, and compel us with Your love!  Let us show the world around us of Your care by the way we care, we pray!

Amen
