We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God. 2nd Corinthians 5:20 NIV
They came from all over the world. For months they worked side by side, lived next door to, and spent their free time together. There were people from all the different parts of Europe, Asia, Africa and America. Each person had their own customs and religions. They shared their celebrations and sat down to eat together. Without realizing it each one was acting as an ambassador for their own country. Are we aware of when and how we are acting as ambassadors for Christ? Are we good ones?
Our lives, our words, and our actions reflect what is in our hearts. Everything about us resonates with the choices we have made and what we hold adore. If what we esteem, dream of, and chase after, are of this world, then this is the impression we will leave on those we come into contact with. If we yearn after and delight in what we can get our hands on here, then this is what others will see in us. But if we can raise our attention, our appreciation and our devotion to God, then the whole world will soon see that we are no longer ambassadors for lesser yearnings of our hearts. The world will see and know that we are ambassadors for Christ. Is that what our hearts will yearn for today?
Help us give our hearts, our lives and our attention to You! Let the whole world see that we reflect the Gift You have given to us in love and mercy, we pray!
