Godly sorrow brings repentance that leads to salvation and leaves no regret, but worldly sorrow brings death. 2nd Corinthians 7:10 NIV
When the days and weeks crept by without any leads or any job offers, a man began to feel depressed. His business ventures had fallen through. His investments had gone down instead of up until there was nothing left. The savings were running out. Nobody seemed interested in hiring him and soon his pride was affected. He lost the smile on his face. His spirits dropped lower than ever. He gave in to sorrow. Have we ever felt the weight of it too?
Loss and hard times bring sorrow. At times you may feel you are the only one who has ever felt so sad. Yet there is a rainbow beyond this dark cloud. There is a bright spark of Light in this haze of sorrow. If it brings us to God, then it is Godly! If our pain shows us our need for a Savior, then salvation can come! If our eyes search and find nothing but the Lord for hope, then hope can be given to us! Coming unto the Almighty leaves no room for regret! It brings us to repentance. Sorrow can bring us to a point where our hearts need God! The world would keep us groveling in self-pity. But we only waste our time focusing on ourselves. We can look up not just at the clouds but to the One who rides them. Shall we pray that all our sorrows are Godly and bring us to God?
Let our sad moments bring us to You. Let our relationship with You grow as we look to You as our only hope, we pray!
