But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. 2nd Corinthians 12:9 NIV
They came flying off the motorbike. The man was in a panic as he searched for the smaller boy. He found him under the bike and carried him to the nearby house. The slightly older boy followed them limping. At the house, they tried to stop the bleeding on the little child´s head. The man came out to sit with the bigger of the boys on the veranda. The shock overtook him and he fell over backward onto his neck on the hard floor. As the family carried the youngest child to the car to rush him to the hospital, they noticed the poor shape of the man who had been riding with the boys. They forced him into the car too so that the doctors could check him for injuries. After they had gone, the older boy felt alone and scared. He could do nothing to help but pray and wait to hear if his friends would be Okay. Have we ever felt weakness?
The true Christian knows his or her limitations. We should know too painfully well our own weakness. We should see with a growing spiritual awareness just how much we need God. In this, we are blessed, because it is our very weakness that moves us to edge in closer and to seek the Lord more fervently. Shall we now?
Dear Lord,
Help us see our need for You! Place us where we seek You just to get through our day and every situation in it, we pray!
Amen
