know that a man is not justified by observing the law, but by faith in Jesus Christ. So we, too, have put our faith in Christ Jesus that we may be justified by faith in Christ and not by observing the law, because by observing the law no one will be justified. Galatians 2:16 NIV
The customs form read that anything above $10,000 in cash would be confiscated if you did not declare it when entering the USA. A man debated whether or not to declare the money that his company had been paid overseas because that was the exact amount which he had in his carry-on luggage. He did not want to be detained by the US customs officers or lose the money. So he decided to do the right thing and declare it all. Do we realize that by believing in Jesus we also make an important choice?
Those who have heard the call to turn to Christ can choose Him as what justifies us. Many influences will tell us that it is a question of declaring this or trying not breaking that law. But if we choose Jesus as what makes us right, then He is the One who walks us down the right line. When we come to Him with it all, then He takes us by the hand. Suddenly our dilemma is not over observing laws or failing to declare something. Jesus is the only One who can walk us through the barriers that would keep us from entering the Holy Land. Only He can present us clean before God! Shall we do whatever we can to find and walk with our Savior today?
Give us our Savior to walk us through all we must pass through, to enter in and be in Your Presence forever, we pray!
