Seated With Christ

Ephesians 2:6

And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus,  Ephesians 2:6  NIV

Their parents took them to church when they were young.  They came from humble farming backgrounds.  At night, after the chores were all done, they were taught to pray.  They would call on the name of Jesus.  They were taught to turn and tune their hearts to Him.  “Dear Jesus,” is how they would start.  Then they would talk to their Savior about their concerns and their devotion to Him.  They would ask Him to be with them and those around them.  Many years have gone by.  These children had their own children.  Then their children have had children too.  All this while, they have not wandered too far from their Lord.  They return.  Morning, noon or night, they come to seek the Presence of God in their day.  They want to know they are firmly seated with Him.  Do we?

Our parents give us most when they give us a walk with Jesus.  They could shower us with earthly gifts, with money, or with social status.  But those precious few who learn to take each step of every day with the Savior of our race, are blessed.  We may not see now exactly how close we are to the Father in Heaven.  But if we can draw near to the Son today, then God will never be far!  Who would drop their pressing issues and seek the Savior with the kind of desire that will help us find Him in our lives right now?

Dear Jesus,

Like, little children, we would like to come to You!  Draw us so near that we are forever changed and our hearts stay seated with You in all the heavenly and the earthly realms, we pray!

Amen
