In Your Heart

Ephesians 3:17 In Your Heart

so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love,  Ephesians 3:17  NIV

 

He was a curious fellow who worked as a maintenance man in one of America´s professional sports arenas.  He knew the old building like nobody else.  But his co-workers thought he was strange.  He always wore electrical boots wrapped with duct tape and he spoke too slowly for our fast-paced society.  A new guy came to work there.  This youngster found it in his heart to appreciate the odd older man.  One day they had to check something in the rafters high over bleachers.  The older worker stepped over the railing of the catwalk and walked out on the narrow beam.  The new worker followed him, but when he looked down at the floor way below, he panicked.  The two managed to finish and come down safely thanks to the calm and caring nature in the heart of the older man.  Have we ever experienced Christ´s love in unsuspected places?

It might be under-stressed, but this is what should define us.  Those who say they have met Christ should have His love filling us and overflowing to those around.  Those who would step out in faith in the Son of God should be sufficiently affected in our hearts that we exude His love to others.  Shall we pray that our faith lets Christ dwell in our hearts and fill us with the love of God?

 

Dear Lord,

Please teach us to seek nothing less than You in our hearts!  Let us go to any lengths to seek Your love in us and to find it welling up and moving us from deep inside, we pray!
