Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you. Ephesians 4:32 NIV
In the course of two years, a man worked in three different jobs. In the first two jobs, he had kind and caring bosses. They went out of their way to make him feel important in the company and part of the family. But the third employer was not so nice. He had begged the worker to join the company, but soon after he came on board his disposition changed. No longer was he considerate with his words. Instead, he was spiteful and cruel. It did not take long for the relationship to deteriorate until they could not work together. Which of these bosses would we like to be remembered as?
The unfortunate part of the story of these men is that the first two bosses were not Christians. It was the less considerate man who professed to be one. God is love. If we have love in us it is a sign that He could be present in our lives. If we do not show love, compassion, and kindness for other people, then we are fooling ourselves. What is worse is that when we forget to be kind we make Christianity look bad. Shall we pray that all those we meet today will come away with the impression that we have met the God of love? Shall we pray that we are kind enough that others will want to know that loving God too?
We come to You today to ask that Your nature and Your love will be clearly seen in us. Please fill us with Your love and help us to be kind to everyone around us, we pray!
