Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of such things God’s wrath comes on those who are disobedient. Ephesians 5:6 NIV
A family visiting another country went to stay with another family in their home. Their hosts received them well and warmly. It was more than evident that this home was one of zealous religious people. One could tell by the high standards, prayer times, and the occasional mention of the church. When the day came to go to church the visiting family joined them. The ceremony was peaceful and there were many warm handshakes. But when the family returned home, they left without having any real impression of having experienced God in any way. When someone meets us or comes into our home or church, what do they see?
We could easily turn texts around to accuse other people. But whether or not we do that, there is always a responsibility on our part. Every person who walks the face of the earth will need to come to terms with what they are doing with what they know of God. Could we pray today that what we know of God is not merely a way of life, a set of beliefs, or a day we set aside? Shall we pray that we meet, come to know, and walk each moment with a very real and amazing God? Shall we ask that our moment with Him leave such an impression on us that we radiate of His love and then exude Him unto all those we come into contact with?
Let us come so close to You that our lives are marked with Your Presence! Let us be so affected that everyone will see!
