And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints.  Ephesians 6:18  NIV

The lady was happy when they hired her to work for a Christian organization.  Her mother had always attended Church regularly, and although she had not, she welcomed the thought of being around people with high morals and the love of God.  The new company she worked for organized retreats and special services for the employees to attend.  They gave her private classes.  There was a chapel there where they encouraged her to pray.  But they instructed her to pray already written prayers.  In fact, all of the rituals they taught her had been around for years. They were to be repeated monotonously.  Is this how we pray to God?

God is intelligent.  God is here.  He calls us to engage with Him.  He is aware of our presence.  It is us who need to come to see His nearness and movement.  He pours out His Spirit from above for this very purpose.  The Holy Spirit shows us the mysteries and Presence of God.  If we can get quiet, if we can tune ourselves to hear Him, then the Spirit can guide our searching hearts.  Shall we make it our effort today, to open ourselves to the movement and sweet whispers of the Spirit of God?  Shall we let Him gently take our hand and lead us into God´s garden to walk with Him there?

Dear Lord,

We would come to spent time with You!  Pour out Your Spirit to guide us on this journey.  Teach us the blessed thrill of coming into Your Presence to be with You there, we pray!
