and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ–the righteousness that comes from God and is by faith. Philippians 3:9 NIV
The service came to a close and the woman was free to go where she pleased. She hurried home. The sermon had touched her. She felt close to God. But she needed more time with Him. She took her Bible and found a quiet place to sit. She prayed, she read. She lingered in the Presence of the Lord. She walked with Him in the beautiful garden paths of the heart. She held Him close to her in the sweet moments of bonding. How do we find what restores us and brings us clean before God?
It may take a discerning heart to discover that God is not an accumulation of religious jargon and actions to follow. It may even come as a surprise to some that the Lord above never meant to be found by humans in long sermons or many meetings. He can be found there and anywhere else where we open our hearts to Him. But we must go after those encounters. We must seek the Lord if we are ever going to find Him. He is anxious to be found by us and in us. But He will not come to hearts that are not looking for Him there. Shall we find a quiet place too? Could we go into the fragrant gardens of our souls to spend some quality time with Christ today?
Give us each day our sweet times to be with You! Let those moments alone with You be what makes us whole, we pray!
