For this reason, since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you and asking God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through all spiritual wisdom and understanding. Colossians 1:10 NIV
The baby was overdue. The mother carried him through the hottest months. He moved a lot. She grew tired of the discomfort. This was her second child and this had been much harder than the first. Finally, the contractions came. At the hospital, they told her it was too late for an epidural. She had to push through the pain. She cried. But when the baby was placed in her arms, all the unpleasantness was instantly forgotten. She had her precious gift from God to love and care for. Is there someone special in our lives? What will we pray and ask God to do for them?
We could ask God to give our loved ones easy or lucrative lives. Or we could pray that they come to know our God. We could ask that they come so close to Jesus that His saving grace will cover them in the good times and the bad. We could plead with the Father to give our loved ones a special awareness of His presence. We could ask that His wisdom and understanding guide them into the most intimate of walks with Him. That Way the people we care about will forever be in good hands! Shall we now?
The best way we can think of to care for the ones we love is that they will come to know and walk with You. Draw them near to You today and throughout all eternity, we pray!
