Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God. Colossians 3:1 NIV
He was raised with Christ. His parents were believers. When he was old enough, he went away to Christian schools. But he had his heart set on higher things. He wanted to be a pilot. His friends flew planes. He started studying that. He worked really hard. He went wherever he needed to be. He did whatever needed to be done. He eventually got his licenses and found work. He continued to study and work hard. The planes got bigger. Now he has been the captain of 747s for years. He got what he set his heart on. Are we attaining what we set our hearts on?
Those who have felt the rush of soaring high above our earthly scene with our Lord will surely have fallen in love with the sensation. When our hearts have flown on wings above the clouds in the heavenly heights, know that is where we will always want to be. Letting our spirits rise with Jesus and to be with Him above the clouds is the most exhilarating experience available to mankind. If we have not been there, we should try it. If we have been with Him, we should set our hearts like our pilot friend, so that nothing stands in our way. We should look only to Christ until we too can be seated with Him in the presence of God! Who wants to fly?
Lift our hearts and set them on You high above our earthly plain. Let our spirit soar with You today and forever, we pray!
