and to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead–Jesus, who rescues us from the coming wrath. 1st Thessalonians 1:10 NIV
“Have you found Jesus yet?” The man asks Forest Gump in the famous movie. “I didn´t know I was supposed to be looking for Him.” He replies. In his simple way of using simple words and logic, Forest sums up for us what happens to millions of us the world over. Have we found Jesus yet?
We too can turn to a simple answer. We can demonstrate with a short response that the whole issue holds little importance to us. Or, confronting ourselves with the thought could make us actually take a look at what others may see in us. Better yet, it could make us work out one more time with our Lord, how God sees our relationship with Him right now.
There may have been times in our lives where we knew we needed a Savior. But if we do not know that we need Jesus here, with us today, then we will certainly not seek to be with Him with enough emphasis to find Him in our hearts. A too simple answer to where we stand with Christ could keep us from ever knowing the Son of God in real living experience. Could we take a deeper and more sincere look now? Could we kneel before the Lord and ask Him to show us again our Savior, our Helper, and our Friend?
Dear Father in Heaven,
Show us our need to be with our Savior today! Give us such a burning desire that nothing keeps us from Jesus, we pray!
