Do What Is Right

2nd Thessalonians 3:13 Do What Is Right

And as for you, brothers, never tire of doing what is right.  2nd Thessalonians 3:13  NIV

In a department store one day, a mother left her children looking around in the toy section.  One of the boys found a figure that he especially liked.  He wanted to show it to his mom.  But when he found her she had already passed by the cash register and was heading towards the car.  He ran after her with the toy still in his hand.  It had all been an accident.  He should have looked for her at the checkout counters first.  All he wanted to do was to show her the toy, and now he had stolen it from the store.  His mother sent him back in to apologize and to return the stolen item.  The boy was highly embarrassed.  He did as he was told, but it was through many tears that he managed to do what is right.

Christians should be the first people to stop and examine the way that they conduct themselves.  This is a beautiful thing to esteem to.  But doing what is right is not just something that we do to stay out of trouble.  The real followers of Jesus Christ will take being good to another level.  Jesus is our example.  He did what was right in that He sought to be in His Father´s will even before seeking His own.  For us to be right, we will need to walk very closely with Him.  We will need to have His love in us.  We can follow a lot of rules.  But if we want to do what is right, shall we do everything we do together with the One who is Right, our Savior, Jesus Christ?

Dear Lord,

With Your Spirit in us, we will always be able to do what You know is right for us. Please fill us with more of You, we pray!
