Which Is the Church?

1st Timothy 3:15 Which Is the Church

if I am delayed, you will know how people ought to conduct themselves in God’s household, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and foundation of the truth.  1st Timothy 3:15  NIV

His adopted family attended a large church in the city.  He was interested in knowing God and establishing a relationship with Him.  So he attended church with them.  They would file in with everyone else, wearing the finest of dress clothes.  They would exchange greetings and heartily sing along.  The preacher would give a sound doctrinal speech that brought many “Amens.”  But in his heart, he was missing his little old simple church.  He missed being in a cozy place where humble people gathered to be in the presence of the Holy Spirit.  Which do we think is the real church?

There are many denominations today.  One would have trouble deciphering which is the true church of God.  Each has their opinions and are based on doctrinal issues.  But the Truth will never lie in those differences.  God´s household will forever be made of people who look beyond our world.  The Lord´s people will be those who concern themselves with God.  They will adjust themselves first to Him and spend little time looking sideways at others.  Shall we pray that we may still find a church which brings us into the presence of God, brings us closer to our Savior Jesus Christ, and fills us with His Spirit and love?

Dear Lord,

Please let us belong to the church of people which seeks to be where You are and in growing nearer to You, we pray!

Amen
