Beyond all question, the mystery of godliness is great: He appeared in a body, was vindicated by the Spirit, was seen by angels, was preached among the nations, was believed on in the world, was taken up in glory. 1st Timothy 3:16 NIV
Two Landrovers stood under a large spreading tree near an African River. Early morning sun crept under the tree to where a man was sipping his cup of coffee by the campfire. As he sat there praying, a mysterious visitor strolled up to the camp. It was a large elephant bull. He was moving slowly as he searched for food with his trunk. The man just sat and watched him come. But the elephant changed his direction slightly to check out another tree for his breakfast. Not wanting to see his friend go, the man strolled over in between the two Landrovers. The elephant passed by without acknowledging he was even there sipping his coffee only a couple of meters away. Nearby, a foreign tourist watched the whole thing and decided to approach the elephant for a photo. It could have been the last thing he did. In the mysterious nature of the beast, this was an attack. How do we feel about the mystery of our God?
Far more mysterious and amazing is the opportunity that we have to experience God. He is much more than great! He came to us in person. The Spirit justifies and glorifies Him. Angels marvel. Christ has risen on High. What better mystery could there ever be to contemplate for all times?
Please give us an eternity in which to discover the mysteries and wonders of You, Your power and Your love, we pray!
