Know the Truth

1st Timothy 4:3 Know the Truth

They forbid people to marry and order them to abstain from certain foods, which God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and who know the truth.  1st Timothy 4:3  NIV

They met at the beach.  Two families laid out their towels and began to enjoy the holiday.  The children played in the waves and built sand castles.  The adults chatted pleasantly.  They talked about their lives, their work, and of course, about God.  Soon it was time to eat.  One family opened their basket and brought out a little fruit, a loaf of bread, and a bottle of water.  The other family did not know what to do.  In their cooler box, there was an array of meats, snacks, and drinks that they were sure their friends would not approve of.  What were they to do?  They did not want to offend anyone.  What do we believe?  Do we know the Truth?

People come from many different countries.  They come from different cultures.  Our God´s creation is full of diversity.  But there is one thing that we should have in common.  If we want to share any part with God, we need to believe in His Son.  We need to give ourselves to Jesus and walk with Him daily.  This brings us to knowing the Truth.  Jesus is called the Truth and the life. (John 14:6)  When we sit down on our beaches, do we take Him with us?  When we eat our food or open our mouths, is it Christ that fills our vision, our souls, and our hearts?  Do we know the Truth?

Dear Lord,

Let us know our Savior so intimately that we are forever filled with Your love, Your guidance, and Your grace, we pray!

Amen
