Know Whom

2nd Timothy 1:12 Know Whom

That is why I am suffering as I am. Yet I am not ashamed, because I know whom I have believed, and am convinced that he is able to guard what I have entrusted to him for that day.  2nd Timothy 1:12  NIV

Times were tough. It was a recession.  Businesses were folding.  A good worker was let go from his job just when he needed it most.  It could not have come at a worse time.  They had a baby and his wife was pregnant.  The man had his faith in God.  He had done the best he could.  The company owed him a substantial sum of money, which the boss promised to pay.  But time went by and the money never came.  The man had to trust that God had a plan and that He could use even the worst of times to strengthen us and show us His love and care.  What have we entrusted to the Lord?

Investing our lives, our work, and our hope in seeking God first instead of focusing on our earthly lives, may not be the easiest thing to do.  It may seem crazy at times to put our trust in Him and not get frustrated with our situation.  But those who know and trust Jesus can rest assured on the nature and promises of God.  Because God is Who He is, and because He is like He is, any deposit we can place in His hands is surely in the best of hands.  It may not look in earthly eyes that we are winning.  But those who walk with Christ will walk through even the worst of storms!  Shall we get really interested in knowing and being with our Lord today?

Dear Lord,

Help us come to know You, the One who has never ceased to work towards our safe and sure return to Your arms, we pray!

Amen
