Nevertheless, God’s solid foundation stands firm, sealed with this inscription: “The Lord knows those who are his,” and, “Everyone who confesses the name of the Lord must turn away from wickedness.” 2nd Timothy 2:19 NIV
In a large chain of holiday resorts, the management team held an intensive course to choose the people they would hire to entertain their guests that season. They were looking for talented individuals who could lead guests in a number of activities during their stay at the resorts. They needed hardworking, trustworthy employees who could be the smiling face that represented the company and assure their guests of having a pleasant stay and wonderful experience. They needed to be able to speak in various languages and have a professional presence on stage. How would they know who would be best for them? What about who will be for God?
One sweet truth about God is that He sees everything. He is not fooled by outward appearances. He is not misled into liking us because of a certain thing we say or fancy thing we have done. He sees into our hearts. The Lord knows who cares about Him. God sees who really looks to Him as their hope, their heart´s desire, and their salvation. If we would have anything at all to do with God, we would do well to check our own souls. Do we want to belong to God? Could we pray that He knows that we do?
Dear Lord,
Come, look into our hearts. Assure Yourself, and us, that we will truly be Yours. Let us walk so closely with You that Your desires fill our hearts and become ours too, we pray!
Amen
