Preach the Word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage–with great patience and careful instruction. 2nd Timothy 4:2 NIV
Touring season began with its usual strenuous training. Soon the team was on the road. They were not the most famous. But they were well enough known. Their team´s name was written on their van, their trailer, and all of their clothes. Before they set out they were reminded to be prepared. They would be traveling at all hours of the day or night. They would never know when they would have the opportunity to make the team look good to someone. Or they could destroy the high image the team wanted to hold in public. Even that grumpy, yet inquisitive gas station attendant at two in the morning deserved a charitable answer to his question. Are we prepared to resemble Christ in season and out?
It is not just an earthly reputation that God´s children need to be careful about. We need to be prepared because we never know when God will bring us into a situation to shine for Him. We will find ourselves in situations at all hours of the day when a right or wrong word could be used. We could shine like diamonds for our Lord, or we could stumble at any moment. Shall we approach Jesus today? Shall we make the most of this moment we can have with Him? Shall we start walking so closely with Him, that we will be prepared at all times to display His love and care in our lives?
Let us come to be with You so much, so often, so personally, that we will always be prepared to reflect You, we pray!
