Since the children have flesh and blood, he too shared in their humanity so that by his death he might destroy him who holds the power of death—that is, the devil Hebrews 2:14 NIV
She was barely old enough to get a job herself and when she did, it was caring for autistic children. They were mostly as big, or bigger than she was, and older too. But they needed a lot of help. They needed help to get dressed. Some needed help washing themselves or eating. It was a tough job. Sometimes it was dangerous. When a child went into a tantrum they could hit, scratch, and bite. But she learned to love those children. Many years later, she could still remember their names and tell stories of the time when they were in her care. Do we understand the significance of what Christ did for us to give us hope and bring us home to God?
Jesus came to us by choice. He shared in our humanity. He shared with us our trials and sorrows. He shared secrets of our Heavenly Father. He did everything for a reason. He did it because by being with us, as one of us, He could show us the depth of God´s love. In living and dying for us, Jesus paved a Way out from under the powers of darkness that we have been held. We can now come unto our Father in Heaven. Because of Jesus´ love, because He shared in our humanity, we too can share our humanity with others. We can care, we can be there, and we can also be with Him forever. Shall we press in close to the One who teaches us to share?
Thank You for sharing in our humanity and for breaking the powers of death that held us away from God. Now help us to be like You and share His kind of love with those around us. Let us be an inspiration and a help to others too, we pray!
