The Love Shown

Hebrews 6:10 The Love Shown

God is not unjust; he will not forget your work and the love you have shown him as you have helped his people and continue to help them. Hebrews 6:10 NIV

She was a busy mother. There were always piles of laundry and housework to do. She also formed an intricate part in the family business and had heaps of paperwork to deal with. Then came the meal times! She had to do the shopping and keep all those hungry tummies fed. But she did each of her tasks out of the love of God and the motherly love that welled up in her chest. Her kids grew into teenagers, and then into young adults. Their friends very often came round and they would be hungry too. Many times watching TV for her meant simply listening from her desk or ironing while others were sitting around watching it. But her work will not be forgotten by those she cared for, or by God. How are we showing God that we love Him as we help His children around us?

Any real love shown to those around us will never go unnoticed by the eyes of our Lord. God sees all! He is not unjust! He will not forget when we give of ourselves to see others cared for. The fact that we take the time and interest in others shows that we resemble our Heavenly Father in some small way. The further we cultivate selflessness and genuine care for others, the more we may reflect the love of God and our Savior Jesus Christ! Shall we pray that God´s love will affect us so deeply today, that it will pour out of us and ease the needs of those around us?

Dear Lord,

Continue to teach us to love as You have shown You love us. Build us up in that love so that we more resemble You. Let us help as many of Your dear children that we can, we pray!
