Those Waiting for Him

Hebrews 9:28 those waiting for him

so Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many people; and he will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him. Hebrews 9:28 NIV

After a wedding, while the whole family was still gathered together, the best man took everyone out to see in a boat that he was looking after. It was a large fishing boat and could easily hold everyone. But when the boat left the harbor, there was one person left standing on the docks. The groom´s mother could not take the motion of the sea. She preferred not to go along on the excursion only to feel ill and ruin the trip for anyone else. So she waited while the rest of her loved ones had the privilege of seeing dolphins, whales, and the beautiful scenery of the islands. When the boat returned, the family could see the mother´s shining smile from a good distance. Do we know what joy our Savior will have to see those who are waiting for Him when He returns to take us Home?

We can focus on many aspects of the faith of Christians. True Christians should have a selfless love like Christ´s welling up within them. They also should be caring hands helping others and gently guiding other souls heavenward. These are visible results of a greater drive deep within the soul of the believer. Those who have fallen in love with Christ and know their hearts intense need for Him will be waiting with growing anticipation to be with Him forever! Those waiting for Jesus are the shining faces that God is dying to wrap His arms around. Will it be us?

Dear Lord,

Grow our desire to be with You until our hearts are eagerly waiting for You! Let us live each moment of every day with a mounting desire to throw ourselves in Your arms, we pray!
