John the Baptist came and went. Others have come and gone. God has sent so many messengers to us to warn us and turn us from our ways. We cannot afford to point our accusing fingers at the Pharisees or Jews or say that those warnings are for someone else. Only those who realize that they are not pure, truly turn to God. The proud already think they are standing with Him. It will take an honest soul to examine our hearts. It will take a humble attitude to bow down before the Lord and see where we turn to ourselves instead of to Christ. We will need to repent from our constant wandering away from the presence of God and seek Him with a desperate need. But there are still some who do. What if we could be one of those today?
