These are those who were not defiled with women, for they are virgins. These are those who follow the Lamb wherever he goes. These were redeemed by Jesus from among men, the first fruits to God and to the Lamb.  Revelation 14:4  WEB

The cat had been in the family years before the first child arrived. It was an apartment cat and spent most of its time sleeping or just hanging out near its owners. But when the new little toddler began crawling around and then walking around, he often went after the cat. A favorite game of the child was to chase the cat with a stick. He would follow it around laughing and giggling every time the cat reacted to his game. The poor cat was not even safe under the bed when the boy wanted to play with him. Sometimes you could just hear the chuckling and squeals from under the bed while the boy was scrunched down trying to reach his furry playmate. Have we ever wondered what kind of people the 144,000 will be like?

We learn of a special people in God´s Kingdom who sing a new song. Not everyone will be able to sing that new song and their praises go up before God. We are even given this description of who they are and by examining it, we can see what these precious souls are like. Perhaps we can be among them. They are described as pure and undefiled. Would we like to reserve ourselves for the Lord? But the real gem buried here is that they follow the Lamb wherever He goes. This does not mean that they merely wear His name. They have sought out their Savior to such a degree that they recognize when and where He is moving. Does this describe us? These first fruits to God were redeemed by Jesus from among men. God saved them from seeking a life like other men. They are God´s because they chose Him over the earthly, and we can too!

Dear Lord,

If we cannot be among the 144,000 who sing praises to You, at least let us be like them! Let us seek to know You, love You above this world, and learn to see where You are moving, we pray!
