It runs like a fever through our veins. It is the love of success, money, and good fortune. Nobody is exempt. We all secretly hope for it. But don´t worry, don´t fret over it. Nobody will take our treasures away when we die.
This life here on earth can smile on us, and we might accumulate all that our hearts desire. We could go around carefree and pleased with all that we have gained. Yet this life is short, and the gains will not fill every hole. There is a place within our souls. It can only be filled with the God who made us, redeemed us, and longs for us to come home with Him.
It is no secret that the less privileged ones on this planet appreciate the smaller yet finer joys. You will hear laughter in the villages while the rich line up to see their shrinks. With prestige comes pressures from society. Greed is a disease. It is seldom cured. Instead, the ones who find peace in this life are humble souls who look above our frantic struggle for more. Those who set their souls on walking with the Divine will enjoy treasures without end.
Let us be the ones who come to know the Lord. Let us contemplate true glory. Hushed and reverent before the throne of God, we will not need to gain, struggle, or win. We will be in the presence of the Divine. The King of Kings will be our delight!
When the sun sets on the riches and glory seekers, we will still be found in the company of The Eternal One. Praise His Holy name!
