Real Danger to Christians

The real threats to the children of Heaven are not ones that attack our comfort or health on earth. They are ones that steal us from God.

It is easy to think that our faith is under attack when we face hard times in life. As difficult as those moments are, they will only strengthen the bond between us and our Savior. True believers lean harder on Christ when the going gets tough. He becomes their strength. But the subtle yet dangerous attack on our faith comes when we least expect it.

Complacency or pride in our declaration of faith are genuine threats. They ambush every child of God. They will woo us into relaxing our search for more of the Lord. Our need for His presence can be stolen from us at any moment.

Dear Lord, You have warned us that our lives will have dark valleys. So let us draw near and lean on You. But also, keep us close when the sun shines. We don´t want to stop pressing close to You when we cannot detect any danger. Instead, keep us thirsty for more of Your presence each day we pray. Amen

5. Be free from the love of money, content with such things as you have, for he has said, “I will in no way leave you, neither will I in any way forsake you.” 6. So that with good courage we say, “The Lord is my helper. I will not fear. What can man do to me?” Hebrews 13:5-6 (WEB)

For we don’t have here an enduring city, but we seek that which is to come. Hebrews 13:14 (WEB)
