Today´s Christians have endless teachers, teachings, and zeal for all of it. We know much about our Bibles and the weight they hold. What we fail to do, though, is to become the few who leave it all behind and fall into step behind our Teacher. We cling to all He said but ignore the need for His presence now. We walk on our own.
When Christ walked the face of the earth, a few people left everything to follow Him. It is no different now. What is different is that many people say they do follow Jesus. Drawing attention to our failures is not to point fingers but to enable God´s children to see. If we know we are susceptible to straying, we can take better care of the intimate bond we seek. Take any Christian alive and intensify their walk with the Lord, and the sky will be the limit.
Dear Lord, give us access to You. Help us drop what we are doing now and seek You. Show us the importance of seeking Your presence in all we think, say, and do. Make us experts at finding You. Take us from where we are and give us a closer walk with You every day. Amen
Acts 17:27 ESV / That they should seek God, and perhaps feel their way toward him and find him. Yet he is actually not far from each one of us,
Proverbs 8:17 ESV / I love those who love me, and those who seek me diligently find me.
Psalm 9:10 ESV / And those who know your name put their trust in you, for you, O Lord, have not forsaken those who seek you.
Jeremiah 29:12-14 ESV / Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will hear you. You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart. I will be found by you, declares the Lord, and I will restore your fortunes and gather you from all the nations and all the places where I have driven you, declares the Lord, and I will bring you back to the place from which I sent you into exile.
