Servants Prophesying

Servants Prophesying

Even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour out my Spirit in those days, and they will prophesy.  Acts 2:18 (NIV)

The Spirit of God is moving.  A commotion is made.  People are wondering over this mysterious force that is allowing simple men and women to do and say amazing things for God.  As they look for answers, Peter stands to direct our attention.  He points out that it has been written and talked about.  Things will come to this.  Normal people will be filled with the Spirit of the Lord.  The world will hear prophesying, old and young will see dreams and speak of the wonders of God.  But is this happening in our late days too?  Are we witnessing this outpouring of Spirit?  Should we be?

Our general trend is to sit quietly back and speculate upon the scene around us.  But as Christians, should we be considerably more involved?  Should we look first to what is happening within our own souls?  If we can detect the movement of the Spirit in our hearts first, then will we be better prepared to see Him moving in our community?  If we cannot detect the Power and the wonder of the Holy Spirit moving mightily within us today, then should we throw off any other distraction until It is found?

Dear Lord,

We have heard of a mighty outpouring of Spirit in the last days.  But from where we sit we cannot see God´s clock.  Please help us detect the urgency of our times and the Presence that we should be seeking right here and right now!  Let our desire to be moved utterly and completely by Your Spirit consume us now we pray!

Amen
