Jesus, No Other Name On Earth

No Other Name On Earth

Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved.”  Acts 4:12 (NIV)

Churches spring up and flourish.  Each are founded upon the doctrines they teach.  Most will acknowledge that the source, the authority behind their teaching is the Bible.  So it is to this source that we go to.  We build our faith upon what we find there.  The truths we find there we cannot extract in isolated texts and make too much of them.  We must be careful to see that the point is made, confirmed, and supported in other texts.  They should all build together and support each other like foundations of a house.

One such teaching is this, that there is no other name found by which mankind can be saved, brought clean to God, and have hope for the future life.  Old Testament prophesies of it. New Testament heralds and also confirms it.  Testimonies abound to the confirmation of God the Father.  So where do we stand?  What do we do with our confided information?  What do we do with Christ?  Do we hold Him off?  Do we speculate over Him?  Do we learn about Him and congratulate ourselves with our deductions of Who He Is?  Or do we go running to seek Him?  Do we make Him our best and closest Friend, Council, Advocate, Goal and object of worship?  Do we love Him like no other name on earth?

Dear Jesus,

We come to You!  We come without excuses to come to know You personally!  We want to know the One Who can save us!  Help us now!  Do in us that what no other can we pray!

Amen
