Jesus, The Rejected Stone

Jesus, The Rejected Stone

He is ” ‘the stone you builders rejected, which has become the capstone. ‘  Acts 4:11 (NIV)

Peter makes sure that the inquirers know Jesus is the One sent from above.  He also shows their part in rejecting what God sent to them.  This intricate Piece, Person, Christ is what men did not want to accept into their hearts and into their lives.  He interrupts everything man was chasing before.  Has anything changed now?

The Stone the builders rejected has become the Capstone!  This should serve as a reminder for us today!  How are we adjusting ourselves to this all-important Stone?  How are our lives grounded in Him?  How are we dependent on Him?  Is He really the foundation upon which we are set?  Or would we have to admit that there is still a lot of confidence that we place in ourselves?  Are our minds, our hearts, and our agendas more often based upon something less than Jesus?  Could we too be overlooking a very vital point?  Could the Stone somehow be neglected in our day?

We are the builders of today!  We can choose what our story is based on.  Shall we make whatever adjustment necessary to never reject, or lessen our dependence on the Stone others have failed to take seriously?  Shall we run to and commit ourselves to Him now?

Dear Lord,

Others have failed to make Christ all that they should in their lives, their days and in their hearts.  Please do not let us make this mistake!  Let us come completely to Jesus!  Let us love Him, learn from Him and build our lives on Him we pray!

Amen
