All who were sitting in the Sanhedrin looked intently at Stephen, and they saw that his face was like the face of an angel. Acts 6:15 (NIV)
Modern Christianity does not always encourage us to chase so hard after knowing God and having Him in us that it becomes evident to those around. To many this means little, but what about us?
A remarkable follower of Christ is brought into question. Those around him notice a difference in him. Even his appearance radiates something special. The fact that this man is close to the Lord is evident. The Holy Spirit working in and through him makes even his face look like that of an angel. Who today would want that much of God´s Presence in and with them? Who of us are seeking it that earnestly?
We could accept our losses. We could give in to current trends. But why? Why should we accept so little of God flowing inside of us? Why do we need to let our times dictate how much of the Lord we can have? Who is left who will press forward? Who will still chase after the favor of God´s Presence with them? Who will do what it takes to have enough of their Lord in them today, that their face will radiate God like that of an angel? Will it be us?
There have been others before us whose faith brought them right into Your Presence. They had You and Your Spirit filling them. The effect that this has is evident. Let us be like them today! Let us seek that much of You in us now we pray!
