God Using Us

Moses thought that his own people would realize that God was using him to rescue them, but they did not.  Acts 7:25 (NIV)

He thinks people will realize that God is using him.  But Moses is wrong.  He brutally murders a person under the pretense of acting for God.  Not one person will see his horrible actions and say that he is working for the Lord.  Somewhere within him he must know that God has great things in store for him.  But the man who is not in tune with God cannot act like God.  Those who are not filled with the love of God cannot possibly go out there and shine a positive light upon God.  But how often do Christians go out and do the just that?  How often are we uncharitable towards others but think we are close to God?  Should we check often to see that our words and actions properly demonstrate God is truly with us?

God can use even the worst of sinners.  What better example do we have than Moses?  But the Lord had to work closely with Moses to keep his temper in check.  God can use us.  There is nothing we have ever done that would be too impossible for the Lord to bring towards His ultimate good.  It might be that we need to become aware of our lack of charity towards others so that God can transform us by His love.  Should we carefully examine our hearts now to see if God can or truly is using us?   Or do we prefer to just think He is?

Dear Lord,

We would love for You to be able to use us in some way today.  Please perform a work of love within us so that we begin to reflect Your love to all those around us now we pray!

Amen
