Don´t Be Alarmed

dont-be-alarmed

Paul went down, threw himself on the young man and put his arms around him. “Don’t be alarmed,” he said. “He’s alive!”  Acts 20:10  (NIV)

Much of our frustration today comes from our not understanding the nature of our world.  We see the rocks and mountains and we think of them as we see them.  We see animals and people and think we understand them and know them too.  But what we don´t see is what is really important.  What is going on in the invisible, spiritual world is what each and everything is truly about.  What God is doing and where He is in our environment is eternally more vital than anything that we can see or experience in this life without Him.  Whatever life throws at us means little or nothing compared to what God is up to.  We do not have to worry about the circumstances!  We should worry whether we are looking to see God´s movement.  We Christians may hold to this in theory.  But do our hearts really know they don´t have to be alarmed?

True faith and true strength will only come to us only when we learn to depend on the Presence of God instead of what we see.  Shall we pray now for the perseverance and dedication required to press on directly into that Presence?  Shall we make it our utmost goal today to be with God, looking to God and all consumed with what God is up to so that we don´t have to be alarmed anymore?

Dear Lord,

Strengthen our faith in You.  Help us to look to You no matter what else we may perceive is going on around us!  Let us look beyond all else so we can be tuned to You we pray!

Amen
