Mutually Encouraged

Mutually Encouraged

I long to see you so that I may impart to you some spiritual gift to make you strong — that is, that you and I may be mutually encouraged by each other’s faith.  1:11-12  NIV

In the well that springs up from the Lord there are many mysterious and wonderful truths.  God is an ocean of marvelous discoveries.  All the wonders of God point to Him in His glory.  They lift Him up.  They draw us to Him to worship and revel in His majesty.  One of these spiritual wonders is that of encouragement.  Do we realize that the person who is sent to share their faith to others is also blessed and encouraged beyond words by the faith they find in those who receive the gift that they are sharing?

We think that the preacher or herald of God´s word to others dwells on a high plain of spirituality.  This is good and necessary for a servant of the Lord.  But it does not mean that the preacher does not receive just as much encouragement from the person to whom they are sharing with.  In the wonders of God, both parties are mutually encouraged.  Should one think that they are too pure or too lofty to receive any blessing from the faith of the other, then their spiritual growth is limited.  Shall we each pray that whether we are sharing or whether we are being encouraged in faith by someone else, that we may all be mutually blessed and drawn nearer to our Lord from our experienced?

Dear Lord,

We want to receive more of You in us today!  Please send us others whose faith encourages us and also show us how our faith can mutually benefit those we share with too we pray!

Amen
