Accountable To God

973 Accountable To God

Now we know that whatever the law says, it says to those who are under the law, so that every mouth may be silenced and the whole world held accountable to God.  Romans 3:19

Those who have never been to church know that the Christians try to conduct themselves in ways they feel God has ordained.  Those attending church learn more about our obligations to society and our Lord.  Some go far and have a long list of actions they try to perform or attitudes to attain.  But the bottom line is that we all know to some degree that we are held accountable for what we do and aspire to be.  Great disputes arise over who and what our obligations are to appease.  Are we aware of what we are accountable for and the One Who we are accountable to?

Before we prepare ourselves to defend our views and standards, we should all peel back our prejudices and examine where we stand personally with God.  The obligation for all within His creation is to relate with Him.  There with God, before we contemplate any external action, social requirement or personal issues, we must each see ourselves in relation to Him.  Are we still able now to set aside all we have been taught and actually bring ourselves before His Presence and under His scrutiny?  Or are we amongst those still doing everything possible to avoid being held accountable to God?

Dear Lord,

Teach us what You would have us know about where we stand with You.  Let us come before You now while there is still time!  Show us how much more You would have with us in living experience right now we pray!

Amen
