For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through endurance and the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope. Romans 15:4 NIV
We have the most amazing resource. We have the Bible. No other written work gives such instruction and such hope. With no constraint, regardless of the ages, the written Word can build us up and fortify us in the Lord. As if to a watering hole in the vast moral desert where we live, the Scriptures bring us to Christ, the Son of God. On every page, the attentive reader can hear, if we are listening, the still small voice of the Holy Spirit. We can have hope in finding our God because every word of Him is a sweet and exhilarating discovery of His wonder and greatness. Do we gratefully run to the Word of God each day for our dose of God?
Modern times and a clamorous world would remove from us the chance to truly come unto God. Insufficient instruction would limit our Father´s power and love. Disbelief or too high of a regard for self would hide from us our need for a Savior. But a prayerful study of God´s Word can give us hope. We can approach the throne still! We can come to know God Almighty! We can become His and revel in His Presence for all time to come! Shall we embrace this hope that reading of God brings us today!
Dear Lord,
Peel back all the parameters of our limited vision! Let us contemplate the Maker of the stars! Open Your Word for us so that each day we may be bewildered and astounded by the discoveries we make there of You! Give us this hope we pray!
Amen
