Divine Power

Divine Power

The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds.  2nd Corinthians 10:4  NIV

Heavy steel grates barred the windows of the small church school to prevent grenades from being tossed through to where the students sat at their desks.  Every couple of weeks a siren would sound the drill.  The teacher and children would scurry to hide under the cupboards below the windows where nobody from the outside could see them.  Their country was suffering through a civil war.  They could not afford to be too careful.  Yet each and every morning the white-haired school teacher would stand before the class and pray.  Her prayer was so genuine, so heartfelt, and so confident in God´s ability to protect them, that the children were able to take strength from her faith in the Lord.

The battle that rages around us today is not merely the powers that we see or hear of on the news.  There is a mighty movement in the spiritual realm where the greatest terrorist threat is waging its last great attack against all those children of the Lord who would look to Him instead of following the world´s parade.  But our Savior has conquered over death, darkness, and evil.  He provides power through the Spirit and through faith.  God´s children do not need to be afraid.  Our simple trust activates the most powerful weapon.  Can we sense the divine power around us that keeps us safe today?

Dear Lord,

Give us peace from knowing You are with us!  Let our faith in You activate the divine power of Your Spirit now, we pray!

Amen
