Fruit of the Spirit

Fruit of the Spirit

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,  Galatians 5:22  NIV

She stood each day at the head of a small one-roomed class.  Her students ranged in ages and in cultural backgrounds.  She was a whitehaired elderly woman and always had her hair tucked up neatly.  She was old-school.  When she walked into class in the morning the children all stood to greet her in a sign of respect.  She did not put up with rowdy or boisterous children and dealt with them swiftly and effectively.  But even in her discipline, one could see the strength of her walk with God.  She was a lovable teacher, but one would love her because they could see the love of God flowing through her as only the Spirit of God can do inside an individual.  Are we walking close enough to the Lord, that the fruits of His Presence and His Spirit are seen in us?

Those who have recognized a calling inside their hearts to belong heart and soul to God are already special.  But the awareness of God´s existence does not place His nature or His Spirit in us.  Each would-be believer will have to go on from whatever humble beginnings we have.  We all must seek the Presence of the Lord ourselves until being with Jesus begins to change us completely.  When we blend our souls so fully with the Spirit of Christ, His love can begin to radiate through our lives.  Shall we pray for an increasing dose of the Spirit in us?

Dear Lord,

Let all the world see how much of You we have in us!  Let the fruit of Your Presence and Your Spirit be seen now, we pray!

Amen
