In the Knowledge

In the Knowledge

until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.  Ephesians 4:13  NIV

A toddler was getting into mischief one day when her mother caught her.  As her mother began to scold her, the child´s eyes welled up with tears.  With a trembling little voice, she cried, “Do you still love me, mommy?”  Her mother´s anger vanished instantly and she wrapped her little girl in a warm embrace.  Are we aware that all of us are on a journey of faith and are like toddlers in our knowledge of the Lord and His love?

The new convert knows there is still much to learn about God and His Son Jesus Christ.  But as time goes by, Christians often they lose the urgency to know Christ more.  This is one of evil´s greatest deceptions.  The more intimately we know Jesus, the closer we are to God.  Christ is still the vital Way to the Father.  The more we focus on Him, the less distracted we are with our earthly lives and all the setbacks that we may encounter.  If we could step closer to the Son today, then every question in life can be taken care of for us.  If we can seek His face and ask Him for reassurance of His love, then He is sure to wrap us up in arms that will forever keep us safe!  Shall we come to Jesus now?

Dear Lord,

We are constantly getting distracted with our little lives.  Stop us in our mischief now and as we turn to You.  Then wrap us in an embrace forever in the love of God, we pray!

Amen
